PP Melvin LeVaughn Herring Scholarship
On August 5th, Ahmed Temple hosted its Annual Scholarship Reception. Under the leadership of Illustrious Potentate Jarvis Rosier, Sr. and through the efforts of the Foundation, Ahmed Temple awarded its PP Melvin LeVaughn Herring Scholarship to six deserving students from the Tallahassee community. “Ahmed Temple takes pride in investing in our young men and women in the community, assisting them in furthering their education. This year, our units answered the call to support this noble endeavor”, said Illustrious Potentate Rosier.
Following diligent research, copious discussion, and the approval of Illustrious Potentate Rosier, the Scholarship Committee, comprised of Assistant Rabban Ecitrym Lamarr (Foundation Chair), Recorder Samuel Pierre-Louis, and High Priest and Prophet Jonathan Moody, selected the following students as award recipients:

• Samuel King
• Josef Marlow
• Symone Thompson
• Amaya Waymon
• Jordyn Webb
In addition to aiding students in their quest for education, the purpose of the scholarship reception is to demonstrate to the community the Temple’s commitment to service. “We’re honored Ahmed Temple can give six worthy students of the Big Bend area scholarships to further their education collegiately and assist in their future endeavors,” said Committee Chairman Noble Moody. Following a spirited program honoring the students’ academic success and the parents’ unyielding faith and support, the hosts and guests enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres and group photos.
“Ahmed Temple’s goal is to impact and lead our community with our charitable endeavors positively. We’re tremendously proud to pay it forward by doing our part for the Tallahassee community”, said Illustrious Potentate Rosier.
Shopping with a Noble
On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the members of the Ahmed Temple No. 37 with the assistance of the Foundation were able to take over 20 kids Christmas shopping, and they were very grateful for the gesture. Major thanks to Walmart for the awesome customer service.
